Our flexible design options include French Doors, Bi-Folding Doors, Glass roofs for Conservatories, Hybrid roofs combining Glass and Insulated panels, Solid Roofs for better insulation, and Velux-style windows for added light and ventilation. Additionally, you can choose from various brick colours, window styles, and RAL colours to match your preferences, ensuring complete satisfaction with the results.
Base Options for Building Regulations
We provide two base options for extensions, updated to meet the latest building regulations as of June 15, 2022. The U-value requirements for floors in England have changed, now requiring a U-value of 0.18W/m²K.
Traditional Build
This method involves removing a significant amount of dirt and requires a trench that is 600mm wide and at least 1 meter deep, filled with C20/25 concrete. If trees are nearby, the depth may increase to 1500mm based on building inspectors’ recommendations.
DurabasePlus 100 System
The DurabasePlus 100 system is designed for single-floor extensions and conservatories. It provides a quicker, cleaner, and more cost-effective alternative to traditional building methods.
The system surpasses building regulations with a U-value of 0.17 W/m²K and comes with a 25-year manufacturer’s guarantee, offering both efficiency and peace of mind.
Managing Drains and Regulations
Before building over or near a public drain, you must contact your sewerage company to comply with regulations. Traditional concrete foundations can’t be used over manholes because the Water Authority requires access, and manholes inside a building raise flooding risks. If a manhole disrupts your extension plans, consider relocating it. Alternatively, the DurabasePlus 100 system offers a cost-effective solution with a cutout in the steelwork for easy drain access and a double-seal inspection chamber.
