Transom Windows

A transom window is any window divided by a horizontal bar – the transom – either as a fanlight above a door or as the classic casement layout with opening top vents above a fixed pane. It is one of the most popular window styles in London and Essex homes, and it is our speciality. Our A+ energy-rated uPVC casement windows can be made with the transom bar positioned to suit your property. Popular arrangements include:

Top-hung vents above a fixed pane – the traditional transom casement layout, ideal for night-time ventilation.
Fanlights above front doors – letting daylight into your hallway while keeping the entrance secure.
Dummy transom bars – giving the balanced, divided look of a traditional window even where every pane is fixed or side-hung.
Georgian bar and astragal bar designs – for period properties where the transom look needs to match the neighbours or planning requirements.

Every window is made to measure in your choice of white, woodgrain foils such as Rosewood, or modern colours, with the transom positioned exactly where your existing windows have it – so the change is barely noticeable from the street.

Warm, safe and secure – as standard

All our transom windows are internally beaded and fully welded, fitted with Yale shootbolt locking as standard. Trickle vents are included where Building Regulations require them (Approved Document F), and toughened safety glass is used in any pane below 800mm from floor level. Every installation is FENSA registered and comes with an independent PLC Scheme energy-rating certificate plus our 10-year insurance-backed guarantee.

Roy and his team fitted new windows and French doors in our house earlier this year (we wanted to live with them for a while before reviewing!). We are really pleased with the quality of the windows and the service from Roy. He's a real gent to deal with and is punctual and professional.
